Policy overview

Radio astronomy records stay private by design.

This Privacy Policy applies to the Radio Telescope app for mobile devices and related services operated by BARTOS. Radio Telescope is an observation journal and spectrum companion for amateur astronomy workflows.

What information does the Application obtain?

The Application does not collect, log, or store any personal information when you download and use it. Registration is not required. If the Application is used with an active internet connection, technical protocol data such as an ephemeral IP address may be transmitted only to facilitate network connectivity. This data is not retained or used for tracking by BARTOS.

No accounts

No registration, login, profile, account dashboard, or authorization is required for the public website or normal app use.

No location collection

The Application does not collect precise real-time location information from the mobile device.

No third-party sharing

Because the Application does not collect personal data, no personal data is shared with third parties.

Data Retention

Application data retention

Radio Telescope does not collect, log, store, or retain personal data on BARTOS servers during normal app use. Observation sessions, target names, object profiles, preset selections, Right Ascension values, Declination values, Universal Time timestamps, spectrum range filters, Min/Max MHz values, Solar Broadband settings, Jupiter Decametric settings, emission line candidate annotations, Hydrogen 1420 MHz notes, Hydroxyl 1612 MHz notes, Peak Frequency values, Strength dB values, anomaly counters, pause events, marked events, equipment notes, observation notes, weather notes, telemetry stats, saved targets, exported local data, default band layouts, Reduce Motion settings, and app preferences are intended to remain local to the user’s device unless a future feature clearly states otherwise.

Website and voluntary contact retention

If you contact BARTOS directly by email or voluntarily provide information through a contact form or another communication method, BARTOS may retain that information only as long as necessary to respond to your request, manage communication, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or maintain reasonable business records. BARTOS does not sell personal data.

Data Deletion

Deleting app data

Since the Application does not collect personal information through normal use, uninstalling the Application removes the app from your device. Local observation records or exported files are controlled by the user on their own device. Users may delete locally stored app data using device controls or in-app data management tools where available.

Deleting voluntarily provided information

If you voluntarily provided information to BARTOS by email or another direct method, you may request deletion of that information by contacting support@bartos.it.com. BARTOS will respond to deletion requests as required by applicable law.

Children, security, and changes

Children

The Application is not intended for children under 13 years of age, or such higher age as required by applicable law. BARTOS does not knowingly solicit personal data from children or market to them. Since the Application does not collect personal information through normal use, children’s data is not at risk from use of the Application alone.

Security and breach notification

Because the Application does not collect personal data, the risk of personal data exposure is minimal. However, no security system is completely secure. If a breach occurs involving information you voluntarily provided to BARTOS, BARTOS will provide notifications as required by applicable law.

Technical-use notice: Radio Telescope is an observation journal and spectrum companion for amateur astronomy workflows. It is not certified scientific instrumentation, professional observatory software, official SETI detection software, aerospace control software, emergency communication software, radio transmission authorization software, or a replacement for professional astronomy, RF engineering, observatory procedures, scientific validation, or local radio regulations.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

BARTOS may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by posting an updated Privacy Policy with a new effective date. Where required by law, BARTOS will seek consent before material changes take effect.

Effective date: 2026-06-21
